Clinical Nurse Specialist needed near Ft. Lauderdale, FL

This is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position for the Cardiovascular Intesive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Intermedicate Care Unit (CVIMC). The Patient Population Served is patient with Open Heart and Thoracic surgeries. This CNS must have demonstrated skill in clinical specialty and works within a dynamic health care team that brings evidencd-based practice to the bedside to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

This critical clinical position mentors, supports and provides expert knowledge resource to nurses and other health care clinicians; He/she impacts the spheres of patient/ family, nurse/ clinicians, systems and community. He/She evaluates best practices and evidenced based nursing and implements strategies and system improvements to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Through excellent communication and collegial relationships this candidate supports a Healthy Work Environment within the unit and the hospital. The candidate must work well within teams and ascribe to an environment where there is shared decision-making. He/she will facilitate a culture of inquiry and will participate in Nursing Research in areas of specialty. This candidate works closely with the unit manager to align goals and strategies. He/will evaluate nursing standards of care including care plans/pathways, policies and procedures, protocols/decision trees, for patients and patient populations. This positions is a clinical leader, consultant, mentor in advancing the practice of nursing among nurses and across the organization to achieve targeted outcomes. The position utilizes and evaluates data and outcomes of patient care, working within teams to improve quality, cost and efficiencies of care process.


Qualifications:


Masters Degree in Nursing. Licensed as CNS in Florida. Will consider a Licenesed RN with MSN that have the requisite skill and expertise in Critical Care/ CV Surgeries.

CCRN preferred

Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience in Critical Care, Cardiovascular /Thoracic Surgery

Demonstrated clinical knowledge in a specialty area. excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem resolution.


Licensure:


FL RN License, CNS in the State of Florida


BLS and ACLS (required )
