Orthopaedic Surgeon (spine) needed in Northeast Nevada
Spine Surgeon is needed. Join another Ortho or become a hospital employee. There are at least 150-180 spinal surgeries that go out every year, most of them going to Reno. Call is 10 days a month of regular call, not spinal call. Right now there is a Spine doc coming from Reno 2-4 times a month doing surgery. There is no trauma spinal surgery. There is 24/7 Anesthesia and Radiology coverage and OR block time.
This is not 100% spine and you'll need to do some general orthopedics. Do not know how much exactly but about 70-80% spine, 20-30% general. There are no Orthopedic Spine or Neurosurgeons in the community. There is one Pain Management doc that comes down from Twin Falls, ID twice a month. They have 5 orthopedists in town right now, 2 with active hospital privileges. The others are doing clinical work or using a surgery center but nobody is doing spine. -Income is in the $590K + range + negotiable sign on bonus, relocation, and all overhead expenses. Reimbursement is VERY strong and the income potential here is HUGE. B/E, B/C, MD, DO, but all must have strong communication skills. H-1B and J-1 Visa candidates are acceptable. 2010 Residents and Fellows are also welcome, but no 2011 candidates. Boarded and Fellowship Training in Spine is not required but certainly would be preferred.
