- BIGGEST MISTAKE… Not following through with a scheduled phone interview.
- The phone interview is just as important as a site visit/interview.
- You should go into a phone interview with the same amount of professionalism and preparation as you would a site visit. Make sure you are in a quiet, distraction free area. Also, don’t do anything during the phone interview that you wouldn’t do in a formal face to face interview.
- Before the phone interview you should research the provider and be prepared to offer your opinion on how your opportunity would be the best for this provider.
- You will also want to have a few specific questions to ask regarding their interests, training, education, etc.
- You‘ll want to be prepared to answer questions regarding the specifics of your job opportunity (call, reason for hire, malpractice issues, payor mix, political issues, personality of the other providers, etc.)
- Be prepared to express your level of interest in the provider.
- Go into the phone interview with a few sets of possible interview dates. A lot of providers like to expedite the process by confirming the site visit at the end of the phone interview.
- Ultimately you want the phone interview to result in a site visit.
